Portfolio > Haiku Paintings

This series of colorfield paintings is a culmination of many years of painting non-objective abstraction. They are culled from my preference for jewel-like colors, memories, dualities, and haiku. Each one is named with a single word borrowed from traditional Japanese haiku, implying potential meanings for each painting. The paintings, however, are not illustrations of the poems. Rather, the titles of the works are similar to their meanings, fluid and subject to change based on the experiences of the viewers.
